RECENT NEWS HIGHLIGHTS
|
August 2010: Kennel Lock In - A Day in the Life of a Dog! These sad-looking hounds are actually Neil and Ian, two of our animal centre staff, who raised funds for the animal centre by donning dog costumes and spending 24 hours (12.30pm – 12.30pm) locked in a kennel, eating out of dog bowls, being taken for walks – even sleeping in the kennel!
They took pictures over the 24 hours to illustrate life in a kennel from a dog's perspective and will be putting them together into a mini picture show.
We are still totting up the money they raised for the Animal Centre and will let you know soon.

April 2010: Steve Prescott, a one-time Rugby League player for St Helens, performed the opening ceremony for our first charity shop at 22 Bridge Street, St Helens (supported by a grant from the national RSPCA society).
The shop sells good quality clothing, household goods, books etc. Come and find a bargain.
Donations of goods are welcome at the shop or at the animal centre in Warrington.

We had a lovely day and a wonderful turn out of walkers who between them raised £1,560 for the Animal Centre. Thank you to everybody who supported us.

August 2007: For all the dogs I couldn't take home
Caz James, aged 38, from Cinnamon Brow, did a spectacular Tandem parachute jump in aid of the RSPCA Warrington, Halton & St Helens Branch for all the dogs she couldn't take home. Caz has two dogs she has adopted from the RSPCA and wanted to help raise much needed
funds for the rest of them.
She would like to thank all her customers at Manstyle Gentlemen's Hairdressers in Norris Street and everyone else who so generously sponsored her. Caz as been overwhelmed by them as, to date, she has raised a fantastic sum of over £500 and is still collecting.
She enjoyed the parachute jump though wouldn't do it again as she felt sickly, but her love of animals carried her through - thankfully, not on a stretcher.
A spokesman for the RSPCA said "We are very grateful for this much-needed donation. It's a marvellous thing she's done and in raising so much. We rely solely on donations from people, so, thank you."
